How to use the lab.

To run an experiment in the lab you will first get human subject permission from the IRB at GMU.  You and your assistants will then take a one hour training session.  In addition, everyone follows the following lab procedures and rules:

1)  All subject must be paid both a show up fee and a salient reward based on their decisions in the experiment.  These payments must be in U.S. currency and paid at the end of the subjects participation.

2)  Subjects cannot be deceived.  As a practical matter, this means that the IRB agrees that the experimenter does not have to debreif subjects with respect to any deception.

3)  All lab procedures must be followed.  This includes the scheduling and cancelling of an experiment, following a pre-approved check list and pre-approved recruiting message, and using standard forms and procedures for check-in and check-out.

4)  The experimenter is responsible for beginning and ending on time, cleaning up the lab for the next group, and making an entry in the lab log.
